John W. Allen
is the
firm's Vice President and Secretary. Since joining the firm, he has
overseen projects to manage consolidated receiverships, manage loans
and other assets, process claims and settlements, inventory FF&E, provide
temporary staffing to accounting and loan servicing operations, review
internal controls and compliance with policy, and provide thrift closing
support services to a $5.0 billion S&L in Conservatorship. He has also
negotiated the firm's participation in several joint ventures and written
numerous proposals. In addition, he has helped the firm and its affiliates
open four new offices, including two Minority Business Development Centers.
Prior to joining G&A, John was a Consulting Partner in the Houston office
of Grant Thornton where he was responsible for overseeing a number of
large government contracts. Clients included the Resolution Trust Corporation,
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Houston Job Training Partnership
Council, Harris County Private Industry Council, and Houston-Galveston
Area Council. RTC/FDIC projects included ARM audits; asset management;
asset reconciliation; asset valuation; collections; due diligence; general
ledger accounting; internal control reviews; REOMS maintenance; and
resolution assistance. Other projects included the Houston Minority
Business Development Center, Capital Formation Assistance Center, Venture
Capital Network (VCN), Center for Women's Business Enterprise, Emerging
Business Assistance Center, and Refugee Business Assistance Center.
John graduated from Brigham Young University with Bachelor of Science
and Master of Science degrees in Management Accounting. He is a Certified
Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.
