Antonio R.
Grijalva is the firm's founder and President. He has 25 years of financial
management and accounting experience, and has served in various managerial
capacities throughout his career. As President of the firm, Tony oversees
the commercial accounting and tax practice. He also oversees the firm's
operation of Minority Business Development Centers in Houston and Corpus
Christi, Texas.
Before organizing his own firm, Tony spent eight years as a Consulting
Manager for Grant Thornton where he played a significant role in the
management and operation of the Houston Minority Business Development
Center. He was also involved in numerous consulting projects through
contracts with the City of Houston, Harris County, Houston-Galveston
Area Council, U.S. Small Business Administration and the Resolution
Trust Corporation. He has extensive experience in project management,
accounting systems and internal controls, business finance, asset valuation,
and international trade.
Prior to Grant Thornton, Tony worked for CI Industries, Inc. As Vice-President
of Finance, he was in charge of all treasury and accounting matters
for the company. He was also the Project Director of the Houston Minority
Export Development Center, a program funded by the U.S. Department of
Commerce to assist minority businesses engaged in international trade.
Before joining CI Industries, Inc. Tony worked as a Controller in the
international division of Applied Power, Inc., a Fortune 1000 manufacturer
of automotive servicing equipment. During his tenure he developed administrative
systems and controls for several subsidiaries located overseas.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from
Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. He is a Certified Public
Accountant. He is fluent in Spanish.
